If you’re limited on space or want to avoid emptying your pockets for a high-end all-in-one PC like the 24-inch Apple iMac, alternatives like the Acer Aspire C24-1700-UA91 could be exactly what you need. This all-in-one desktop PC sports a lightweight build and packs wireless peripherals into a slim-bezel, 24-inch, tilting display, a snappy solid-state drive, and a decent graphics card for enjoyable lightweight gaming and video editing.
While it doesn’t promise game-changing performance, but it performs all core functions with remarkable fluency. When we reviewed the Acer Aspire C27-1655-UA93 last year, we liked it for its sleek, stylish design and competitive performance. For 2022, Acer is back with an Aspire C24 all-in-one desktop that features the latest 12th generation Core i3-1215U processor, Intel UHD graphics, 8GB RAM, and 512GB SSD storage.
The result is an affordable AIO that costs much less than our favorite Apple iMac but delivers a strong performance than most AIOs in the market. Simply put, if you can’t afford the Apple, the Acer Aspire C24-1700-UA91 should be your next sweet landing.

Acer Aspire C24-1700-UA91 Review: Design
You don’t think of desktops as portable, but the Aspire C24-1700-UA91 is surprisingly easy to move around if you need to since it weighs 16.32 pounds and measures 21.28 x 1.47 x 15.95 inches. Despite the lightweight profile, this Aspire C24-1700 remains sturdy and the main body offers a level of stability without overwhelming your desk. The included fully wireless keyboard and mouse are relatively small, but they get the job done straight out of the box.
One of the most outstanding aspects of the Acer Aspire C24 is the 24-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display. It looks sleek thanks to a matte design with black bezels and LED backlighting, and while it measures 24 inches on the diagonal, it appears much bigger, thanks to the low profile with thin bezels on the top and sides. Acer claims that the thin bezels yield large screen estate, and sure users can enjoy 92% more screen across a range of viewing angles.
The display is easy to adjust, it tilts up and down with minimal effort between -5 degrees and 25 degrees. Still, you’ll need two hands to adjust it since the base weight and the overall weight is a bit low but requires very minimal handling overall.
And while the quality of the display is generally crisp and clear for some lightweight gaming and photo editing, streaming video content might appear slightly washed out. Colors are a bit muted and a slight vignetter/shadow effect is present around the edges of the display, just like in some laptops.
Port selection is fine, and the back location makes them easily accessible. Available options are similar to what you’ll find on more traditionally sized desktops – including an HDMI out port to extend your display. Two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports and one USB-C port should be enough for your peripherals, though one of them will be taken by the nano-USB required to operate the wireless mouse that comes with the Aspire C27. Moving the machine to access the ports takes little effort if you don’t have a lot of space around the back.
Acer Aspire C24-1700-UA91 Review: Performance
The Acer Aspire C24-1700-UA91 is powered by a modest 12th Gen Intel Core i3-1215U processor, 8GB RAM, and Intel Iris UHD graphics, which is similar to what you’ll find on most laptops. While this won’t satisfy your search for one of the best gaming laptops or top picks for video editing or graphic design, the Acer Aspire C24 is well-suited for the general tasks you expect from your desktop PC. Plus, the 512GB SSD storage capacity should be more than adequate for storing all your files, and it’s faster than traditional hard drives.
This Acer all-in-one is designed for the modern office, student, or family. It’s stylish, quick to start, easy to navigate, and runs all modern computing tasks without a hitch. Whether you’re looking for a machine that can help with daily tasks like multitasking on email, web browsing, and word processing or you’re looking to stream video, and music, and do some light photo editing and gaming too, the Aspire C24 won’t disappoint.

And if you spend long hours in front of the screen, the Acer Bluelight Shield offers several Bluelight reduction settings to reduce eye strain. Elsewhere, while this desktop offers a pair of stereo speakers, they’re on the back of the machine. The speakers create a muffled tin-can effect when the computer is placed on a desk facing the wall. Having enough space to keep this machine away from the wall will greatly reduce the effect.
Finally, the Acer Aspire C27 comes with a 5.0MP webcam that’s just clear-enough video quality and the audio is just okay. It’s grainy and washed out at its very best, if you’ll be chatting over Zoom or Hangouts, or other platforms, this won’t provide the best-looking chatting experience.
Should you buy the Acer Aspire C24-1700-UA91?
The Acer Aspire C24-1700 is a stellar AIO desktop PC. Its latest 12th generation Intel Core i3-1215U and Intel UHD graphics, along with its 8GB of RAM and ample storage, deliver good enough performance for your buck. And its parts are fast enough for most computing tasks, making it a great machine with good all-around performance. The thin, compact design is also a plus for anyone with limited space but looking for a big-screen AIO PC.
There are less expensive all-in-one desktops on the market like the Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3i and then there’s the high spend 27-inch Apple iMac that delivers a stylish design, a high-res screen and packs unbridled performance in a stylish package. The Acer Aspire C24-1700-UA91 sits right in the midst and that makes it a great alternative for those looking for a capable AIO for home-office use.
